Nurse Martinez was born and raised in South East Los Angeles with Mexican and Salvadorian roots. She is a proud first generation college graduate and a product of programs such as A.V.I.D and E.O.P. She attended California State University, Fullerton and studied Child & Adolescent Development with a desire to become a pediatric nurse. She then continued her education and obtained her Master of Science in Nursing. Soon after, she fulfilled her dream and became a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit nurse at the Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC). After a few years, she had a desire to serve patients from various underserved communities and made a transition to serve older adults.
