Pharmacy

Students involved in the Pharmacy Committee will attend biweekly meetings to learn about various drugs, their uses, mechanisms of actions, and more! We will train students on how to understand prescriptions, distribute pills to patients, and instruct patients on how to use them. public health

Public health committee members work together to create community resource maps, analyze the health trends of diabetic and hypertensive patients, and facilitate access to quality and affordable medical resources for our patients. During clinic, members go out into the community collecting data through the use of surveys and documenting techniques in order to better inform our community of the resources available to them.

dental

The dental department at our new site in Rancho Escondido opened on March 23, 2019. Flying Samaritans is excited to further advance the department in order to provide our patients and the community as a whole the best dental care and treatment as possible. By attending Dental Committee meetings, students will learn about the dental school applications/process, how to prepare for the DAT, various dental terminology, dental conditions/diseases, equipment, and more. With this knowledge, students will be able to apply their skills during a hands on experience at our clinic site. Work includes assisting certified dentists during dental cleanings.
